Edi's room is half-filled with dried corn (which will eventually be made into soup, flour, etc. to eat). She doesn't mind because, like land, water, the sun, etc., corn is sacred to the Quechua people. Her nephew, Ollantay (named after the town founder), doesn't mind either because it's fun to play with.
